Connect your Instagram account
Link an Instagram Business or Creator account over the official Meta API in a few clicks.
LoopFuel connects to Instagram through the official Meta API. To automate DMs and comments, you need an Instagram Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page. This guide walks through connecting it.
Before you start
- Switch your Instagram account to a Business or Creator account (in the Instagram app: Settings, then Account type and tools).
- Link that Instagram account to a Facebook Page you manage.
Connect your account
- Sign in to LoopFuel and open the Accounts page.
- Click Connect Instagram. You are taken to Meta's secure login.
- Log in to Facebook and select the Page and Instagram account you want to connect.
- Approve the messaging and page permissions LoopFuel requests. These let LoopFuel read and send DMs on your behalf.
- You are returned to LoopFuel with the account connected and ready to automate.
LoopFuel only uses permissions you grant during this consent step, and only through Meta's official API. We never ask for your Instagram password and never scrape data.
If the connection fails
- Confirm the account is a Business or Creator account, not a personal one.
- Confirm it is linked to a Facebook Page and that you have admin access to that Page.
- Try again, making sure every requested permission is left enabled on the Meta screen.
